Class Expectations – A Reminder for Every Dancer
By coming to class, you agree to:
1️⃣ Show Up as You Are – Come authentically, ready to learn and move at your own pace.
2️⃣ Find Inspiration, Not Comparison – Support fellow dancers, cheer them on, and use their progress as motivation rather than comparison.
3️⃣ Speak Kindly to Yourself – Leave negative self-talk at the door. Focus on progress, not perfection.
Disclaimer
I want to be transparent: When I offer specialised workshops like Fosse-focused training, the pricing will reflect the additional costs and expertise involved. However, these weekly dance classes are designed with a different goal in mind—to create an affordable, consistent training space where dancers can attend regularly without financial stress.
This initiative is deeply personal. In recent years, I’ve often found myself unable to participate in classes due to cost, and I understand how that can hinder growth and connection within our community. These classes are built on the idea of making dance more accessible, fostering joy, and encouraging consistent practice—because sometimes, it’s about showing up and just doing the thing we all love.
While I recognise that I could charge more, I’m also deeply aware of the financial challenges many artists face today. This project is my way of offering something accessible and meaningful to anyone who wants to join.
To my fellow educators: I fully encourage you to set rates that reflect your worth, time, expertise, energy and hire spaces. You are invaluable. This is simply my approach to giving back to the dance community in a way that feels right for me.
